If you wish to have a truly fantastic view of the Eiffel Tower then head to the Trocadero on the Right Bank of the Seine. It’s elevated position makes the Eiffel Tower appear to be at eye-level. The perfect Parisian photo-opportunity.
The Place du Trocadero, with it’s Jardin du Trocadero water gardens, is dominated by the Palais de Chaillot, an impressive relatively modern building, that beautifully frames the Eiffel Tower.
With a little planning you can make this your first sighting of the Eiffel Tower so as to increase the ‘wow’ factor. Approach the Palais de Chaillot from the Place du Trocadéro side, and climb the wide central steps of the terrace. As you climb the steps the Eiffel Tower appears on the horizon.
There is a good selection of cafes and brasseries to suit all budgets in the area but you can always bring your own food and sit on the grass or the steps and picnic while feeling at one with Paris. The whole Trocadero area is stunning and the ponds and fountains add to the wonder. The Trocadero Paris is an iconic setting.
And don’t forget to use the Trocadero Paris for evening viewings, the sight of Paris and the Eiffel tower illuminated with the lights seeming to twinkle is unforgettable, and free.
