SeaFrance English Channel Ferries Dover to Calais

  1. Fares on SeaFrance English Channel Ferries - are much cheaper compared to crossing the English Channel by Train.
    1. £25 (starting from) each way, return on any day, Car and up to 5 passengers. Ideal because of the flexibility. Valid for 365 days. These Short Break Fares are valid for 5 days from the time of arrival in Calais. Must return before the end of these 5 days.
    2. £25 (starting from) each way, return on the same day. A day trip package. Car and up to 9 passengers, not permitted to travel with loaded roof racks or loaded trailers !
    3. £25 per return for Pets, registered guide dogs travel free. Your pet can join you with the PETS scheme. Foot passengers are not allowed to take pets.
    4. £10 (starting from) Return without getting off in Calais. , No cars !. Only foot passengers, Pets are not allowed. Only for foot passengers traveling to Calais and returning on the same ship without disembarking in Calais.

    Always book early to get the best deals. Avoid rush times like Public / Bank holidays, or school holidays.

  • Travel time is
    1. 70 - 90 minutes Depending on the ship you are travelling in - Dover to Calais (or vice versa), about 3 times slower than Eurotunnel.
    2. hours Round trip - foot passengers only , no Pets.
  • Passenger Ferries operate between 08.00 to 17.50
  • Up to 15 sailings a day (With a dedicated fleet of 3 ships for Dover - Calais route)
  • Check in
    1. Vehicle check in at least 30 minutes before departure.
    2. Foot passengers, disabled passengers and groups should check-in at least 60 minutes before departure.
    3. If you are traveling with a Pet, check-in at least 60 minutes before departure.
  • Ideal for accompanied Cars - Much more flexible than either Eurotunnel or Eurostar. Foot Passengers on day trips are only allowed a reasonable amount of hand luggage. Other foot passengers can carry 2 pieces of luggage per person. More restrictions on foot passengers and Pets.
  • For Pets -Pets must remain in your car at all times during the channel crossing. If you are a Foot passenger then you cannot take your Pets. Horses are allowed but please advise before travel.

      1. Port is at Travel Centre, Eastern Docks, Dover Kent, CT16 1JA
        1. By Car, Join the ‘Vehicles with Reservations’ lane to access the check-in booths.
        2. By train , nearest station is Dover Priory - 1.5 miles from Port
        3. National Express operates a regular coach service
    2. Calais
      1. Terminal Est, Car Ferry, Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie de Calais, 24, Boulevard des Alliés 62100 Calais
        1. By car - Direct drive away access to the motorway. Under 3 hours drive to Paris.
        2. By Bus - For foot passengers’ bus, operates between 10am and 8pm, from the port to Place d’Armes ( Centre of Calais ) and the railway station on request. £1 (€1.50) per passenger per direction. Regular train services from the central station to to Gard du Nord Paris and other main towns and cities.
  • Very pleasant on board atmosphere on SeaFrance English Channel Ferries.
      Lovely sea views and fresh air. A range of restaurants from full waiter service to self-service, seating and lounge areas, selection or bars, and on board shopping cheaper than duty free prices ( and below high street prices).
  • English Channel crossing Experience by Ferry is similar to a comfortable train journey in any European city,
    1. Disabled facilities such as Disabled toilets ,wheelchairs (on request), wheelchair friendly lifts, etc.
  • For Vehicles
    1. High Visibility Jacket (must be carried in a place accessible without having to get off the vehicle. ( definitely not in the boot). In case of breakdown jacket must be worn before you exit the vehicle ). Warning Triangle (can be in the boot.)
    2. Vehicles exceeding 5 meters in length and 1.85 meters in height, must be declared at time of booking.
    3. Gas -LPG converted vehicles or camper vans carrying a maximum of 1 LPG cylinder for domestic powering purposes are allowed on board.
