How to find cheap Channel Tunnel Fares

November 10th, 2008 by paris

The Channel Tunnel going to Paris is probably the busiest channel way going to Paris during any season of the year.  Both tourists and locals alike book tickets to ride the trains and ferries which go through the Channel Tunnel to get to Paris especially during holidays.  The Channel Tunnel runs from London, England, to Paris, France, and is a passageway that is famous for its prestigious bullet trains and ferry boats.

Even though ferries are almost always fully-booked, people are still travelling to Paris thru the different ferry lines such as Eurotunnel, from which you can purchase your tickets.  The typical Channel Tunnel fares cost around £49 pounds per car or single ride.  You may bring your car along and the fare remains the same.

The Eurostar, which is a high-speed bullet train running from London to Paris, travels to over 100 destinations in and out of London, Paris, Avignon, Brussels, Lille, and more.  You may purchase tickets depending upon the number of passengers, whether accompanied by a child, the time of destination, and the route you are taking.  Channel Tunnel fares for the Eurostar train usually cost around £100 to £300 pounds. If you are travelling on a round trip, online websites offer cheaper prices when you book thru the internet.  A round-trip ticket usually costs around £70 up to £90 pounds per adult passenger.  Your tickets may be purchased up to 180 days prior to the scheduled date of departure.

These two companies which allow passengers to travel via the Channel Tunnel are requesting passengers to book ahead of time to ensure seats and accommodations in the train or Channel Tunnel ferry.  You may check for the Channel Tunnel fares at the Eurostar website when you purchase your ticket.

Are these the most affordable options? My budget must be smaller than a shoestring, unfortunately. I guess I need to be saving up more and more to afford all the little things that will be more expensive that I was imagining. I will try booking through the internet to save some $$.
