You’re in the amazing city of Paris and want to see every last bit of it. You’d think walking would be the best way to take it all in and grab every nuance. Plus, if something’s too far away to walk, a Métro station is always just around the corner. Why then would a traveler choose to roam around Paris by bus?

There are a couple of answers to that question. First, oftentimes the bus line will actually take the shortest route. The Métro is limited by the subway tunnels and routes. Parisian buses have the network of streets to meander, often giving the traveler more direct access.

Second, you’re here to SEE Paris, not the inside of a subway tunnel! Sit back, relax, and look out the window and see the city as you drive by. Although taking the Métro is definitely a unique Paris experience that should be experienced by everyone visiting the city, traveling Paris by bus will show you things you would’ve missed if you were underground.

To save the most money on your Paris by bus travel, though, you can take advantage of multi-ticket packet (carnet) purchases or the unlimited use Paris Visite Pass. Tickets for the Parisian bus system are the same price as the Métro and are interchangeable. However, you can save money by purchasing a 10 ticket packet (called a carnet) and save approximately 25%. If you have a lot of traveling to do, purchasing a Paris Visite Pass might be your best money saving option!

This travel card will allow you unlimited use of Parisian buses, the Paris RER train, the Métro, tramways, Transilien SNCF trains, Montmartrobus, Montmartre funicular, Optile bus, and Noctambus, all through Paris and other regions. It can be purchased in increments of 1, 2, 3, or 5 consecutive days, to match any length of stay. In addition, you can match your Pass purchase not only to the number of days you’re staying, but the areas you’ll be visiting. Select a Zones 1-3 Pass for travel all through Central Paris. This cost effective means of travel will get you to the Louvre, Notre Dame, and many, many more monuments in the city. Choose Zones 1-6 Pass and also get unlimited travel to the primary suburban tourist areas, like: Versailles, Orly and Charles de Gaulle Airports, and Disneyland. Buy a multi-day Pass and save even more, while enjoying the sightseeing opportunities and convenience of the Paris by bus, along with the best of Paris’ public transportation system!
